Equipping Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Mission

Leann Warren

Leann is a former high school and college math teacher. She has a master’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from MTSU and 45 additional graduate hours in educational leadership from Cumberland University.  She’s taught at Hume-Fogg Magnet High School, Vanderbilt’s Program for Gifted Students, Volunteer State Community College and Union University (primarily dual enrollment classes), and at Pope Prep.

Struggling with learning mathematics herself, she believes God gifted her with a unique ability of explaining mathematics to students in a way that they can understand.

Leann has been married to her husband of 20 years and has one son. She homeschooled her son from Pre-K through 8th grade. During this time, she realized that the homeschool math curriculum taught outdated skills and oftentimes was not adequately preparing students for a quality mathematics background nor at a college-preparatory level. That’s why she wrote her own curriculum!

Her passions are Jesus, teaching kids to love math and science, and leading mission trips to Uganda. When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her tutoring students, cheering on her competitive swimmer son, and mentoring teachers in Uganda.
